Magnus is the world chess champion (human variety) and apparently the other character is a chess playing computer program, or something. Which would beat him 98 times out of a hundred. And draw the other two.
Anyhow I didn't learn that from google, it was in a news article I read yesterday (admittedly online, but an article nonetheless) :)
