Kept it lean, if not totally clean. I agree with Patrick, love the title and your material is great, you could lead the fire science/stand up comedy crossover movement.
LOVE the title for starters!!! Your material is great, in my opinion, will make people laugh ( I did, several times!). How long is it meant to be? I wonder if there is space for more material e.g. causes for hope OR lack thereof in the fire space? Maybe I'm just musing through my hat... GREAT stuff :)

Keep up the good work!
Thanks Lachlan, if you have any leads for getting onto the $10,000 a night speaker's tour, let me know

thanks Patrick. it's just a ten minute talk so i've kept it lean. here's a couple of bonus things for you that give me hope in the fire space
- principles of inclusion and democracy being baked into some processes
- the incredible picture of spatial and temporal variation in fire emerging from big data records including remote sensing
- the ever growing smorgasbord of disciplines and perspectives taking a seat at the fire table
- the plucky public sector folks tasked with doing fire-related stuff
- the emerging contours of an international conversation and congregation around fire
